4 Star, First Class Traditional Hotel
The hotel is in a quiet location, set back from the road next to the city centre lakes and within easy walking distance of Norreport station.
Rooms are generally of medium size and traditional in design. Floors are mainly blue and the other decor is a mixture of salmon pink and greys. All rooms are due for a renovation in late 2007 early 2008 whereby the intention is to totally renovate from top to bottom and incorporate a more modern interpretation of classical design. Until then the bedrooms and bathrooms are both in good condition.
Breakfast is taken in the atrium style indoor and outdoor terrace, whilst other meals are eaten in the brasserie.
It is an attractive old building, with an elegant white stone facade. The initial reception area is small, although there is plenty of seating in the adjacent bar. Carpets and fabrics used are primarily brown and in places reflect the theme of King Arthur and the round table which is common throughout the hotel.
This is a well maintained hotel in a pleasant location near water, which is particularly suitable for individual travellers. Please note until end of March 2007 the lobby and reception area will be under renovation. It is anticipated that this redevelopment will not overly affect the guests experience in anyway. However, from mid April until end Nov the hotel intend to add 40 additional rooms in separate wing newly acquired by the owners. Again the hotel anticipate any noise and building work can be kept entirely hidden from the guest and should in theory cause no inconvenience to guests stay and experience.
